CHERISH

Community Support & Grief Resources

Compassionate Care, Guidance, and Local Support for the surrounding Community of Chapel Hill

Funeral & Grief Support Services

In addition to the traditional funeral services we offer, including funerals, burials, cremation, and more, we also offer much-needed grief support.  We are honored to provide ongoing grief support to families across Missouri.  We don’t want to be a temporary resource, only offering our services until the conclusion of a funeral.  That is why Chapel Hill is a Sponsor to  CHERISH, a Non-profit 501-3c entity that ensures financial support through grant funds and fundraisers to provide Mental Health and Grief Support Services and Events to the surrounding Jefferson County area.

CHERISH is a necessary grief support resource for Jefferson County area individuals & families

You Are Never Alone

CHERISH believes no one should be left to bear the weight of grief alone.  We are here to provide grief services to anyone who is in need.  By offering these resources in our community, we build a powerful network of support that ties families together.

WE REMEMBER TODAY, TOMORROW, FOREVER

Community

Those who experience grief often require a community beyond their own to support them through this journey. Through CHERISH, your community may grow to include licensed therapists, support groups, and events.

Help

No one should face grief alone. You need help to navigate this process, and we are here to provide the resources individuals and families need after a loss.

Educating

Everyone experiences grief – from hearing the news that a loved one has passed, through all the remembrance events, and then along our unique path to healing. Everyone should feel their emotions and perspective are validated and accepted.

Remembering

We recognize that the grieving person may feel isolated, perceiving that others want them to move on. At CHERISH events, we remember for years and generations to come. Grieving families celebrate their loved one’s life, holding them in their hearts forever.

Inspiring

At Chapel Hill Mortuary, we embrace our larger role of helping create a healthy community. Our community events have brought families together and helped our neighbors in need. We are inspired by hardworking community members and businesses, and are blessed to have the opportunity to help others. Together, there is nothing we cannot do.

Sharing

Losing a loved one may feel like the end, like you cannot survive, but you are not alone. Our grief experiences are unique, but we are connected by our journey toward healing and we need support. At CHERISH, we offer a wide range of free grief services and support groups that can lighten your load.

Healing

You will never be the same after the loss of a loved one. CHERISH can help your grief journey be a healthy one for you and those you love. You cannot escape your grief, and medications will only postpone the pain. You must share grief. Your pain will not disappear, but support from others can help ease your heartache and keep you healthy as you make your new way. You are not alone.

Volunteer Today

Volunteering as an adult or older adult provides profound physical, mental, and social benefits. It improves brain health, lowers stress, and creates a strong sense of purpose. For retirees, it replaces the camaraderie and routine of the workplace, ultimately helping individuals live longer and healthier lives.

When people talk about the impact of volunteering, we often hear about how it benefits the people in need. What is not highlighted enough is how amazing it is for the volunteer! Volunteering with a community group or charity you are passionate about is a fantastic way to spend your spare time and reduce social isolation and loneliness. By volunteering, you are likely to:

1. Meeting like-minded people

2. Increase your confidence

3. Work in a team

Making friends

Have fun!

Enjoy being picky and choosing the role that will benefit your wellbeing as well as help the community!

Volunteering comes in all shapes and sizes. Whether it is volunteering in a charity shop and engaging with customers, joining a telephone-friending service, or using your technical skills to help a charity update their website, volunteering should always make a positive impact on your own wellbeing. There are a number of ways to dedicate your spare time to others, so take your time choosing the right opportunity for you.
