Simon Andrew Bennett

Simon Andrew Bennett was born on August 7, 1972, in Coulsdon, England. June 1, 1974, Simon, his older brother, Martin, and his parents Grainne and David immigrated to the United States. Simon spent most of his life in St Louis but also lived in Texas, California, and Massachusetts. Simon was a tremendous man with a heart of gold. However, his heart gave out and he posed peacefully in his sleep, on August 30, 2024. Simon was fiercely loyal and would do anything for anyone. He had a wicked sense of humor and was simply great company. He loved music. He loved dogs, in fact he earned the nickname 'Dog' in high school. He loved the ocean. And Simon was a diehard St Louis Blues fan. Simon lived a lot of life in his 52 years and faced a number of health issues. Regardless, Simon was always filled with joy and hope. He was so great around children and became Uncle Simey to Charlie Bennett, Brayden and Charlotte Dunn, and Kasey and Ethan Grigg, and many more children along the way. Simon was a source of comfort for many and could always help us laugh through the pain. A deeply valued brother, a son, an uncle, and a friend, we love you, we miss you, and we are grateful you played such an important role in our lives. He is survived by his parents, Grainne Dahlem, David Bennett, his brother Martin, his sister Claire, his nephew Charlie, and a host of friends who were like family and are a great source of comfort through this loss. The family asks in lieu of flowers please donate in Simon's name to an animal rescue near you. Because Simon's friends and family are scattered near and far, there are two events to remember our friend, brother, son, and uncle, Simon. One will be in St. Louis, MO, and one in Eastham, MA. We look forward to a good laugh, a mighty cry, and time to fill the gaps in our hearts with your fellowship and love. On our last trip to Cape Cod in the Summer of 2023, Simon expressed to me how special this place was to him, and how he wanted his ashes scattered into the ocean from here. We are happy to make this wish come true for him.
