Richard Bequette

Richard T Bequette, 83, departed on Dec. 7, 2024 at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, MO with his loving family and special friends by his side. Richard was born on Feb. 12, 1941 in Old Mines, MO. He was the son of the late Edgar and Lourdes (Boyer) Bequette. On May 1, 1965 he married the love of his life, Margaret Mary (Murry) Bone. Together they raised 3 sons, Joseph Bequette (Shannon), Tad Bequette and Ben (Rea) Bequette. He is survived by several grandchildren and brothers: Greg (Lucy), John (Mary Ann), Joe (Lisa), Mark and Chris and sisters: Regina, Kate, Mary and Paulette (Danny). Also surviving are sister-in-laws: Marilyn (Donnie) and Pat, nieces, nephews, numerous other relatives, friends and special friends Bob and Marge. Mr. Be quette took great pride in his military service in the US Army. His service in the military instilled in him a deep sense of patriotism and great pride for his country. He attained the rank of SPC-E5 and was awarded “Trainee of the Cycle”. Richard was also a proud member of the American Legion where he formed lasting friendships and continued to support his fellow veterans. His faith was unwavering as a devout Catholic and lifetime member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of High Ridge, MO. His strong faith guided his life and inspired others. His hobbies included golfing, fishing, hunting, camping, boating and all sports. He took great pride in caring for his garden and fruit trees. Richard retired from the shoe industry after many years as a salesman. His occupation took him on travels across the US and around the world. Richard was preceded in death by brothers; Vincent and Tom, sisters; Alma and Glenda, brother-in-laws; Don, Bill, Ron, John and Bob, sister-in-laws; Melva and Annette. Visitation will be held Thursday Dec. 19, 2024 from 10-11 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua in High Ridge, MO. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A luncheon will immediately follow at St. Anthony of Padua.
