Phyllis Smith

Phyllis (nee Schneider) Smith of Ellisville, Missouri, formerly of Spanish Lake and Cedar Hill, Missouri, was born September 26, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to John and Estella (nee Gusky) Schneider and entered into rest Friday, May 22, 2026 in Ellisville, Missouri at the age of 95 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Estella (nee Gusky) Schneider; husband, Jerome “Jerry” Smith; son, Bob Smith; grandson, Matthew Lohman; great-grandchildren, Lewis Lohman and his triplet sisters; sibling, Jeannine Soulsby; son-in-law, Tom Fischer. She is survived by her children, Mark (Christine) Smith, Don (Linda) Smith, Sue (Tim) Lohman, Denise Fischer, Kathy (Brad) Wieseman, Tom Smith (Laura), Jeannine (Kenny) Mitchell, Lisa (Mike) Wieseman, Tim Smith, Craig (Connie) Smith, Ellen (Matt) Tuohy; daughter-in-law, Pat Smith; twenty-four (24) grandchildren; twenty (20) great-grandchildren; siblings, John (Ruth) Schneider, Bob (Kathy) Schneider, Joe (Patsy) Schneider; brother-in-law, Dan Soulsby; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Phyllis was a loving and devoted woman whose family meant everything to her. Faith played a central role in her life, and she was a dedicated parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace, and she was actively involved in the Ladies Auxiliary and the Genesian Players of Spanish Lake. Phyllis found joy in life’s simple pleasures, from reading, singing, and playing bingo to baking and sharing Christmas cookies with those she loved. She also enjoyed relaxing with her favorite Hallmark movies and soap operas. She will be fondly remembered for her warm heart, strong faith, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace, 4696 Notre Dame Dr., House Springs, Missouri 63051. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
