Patricia Ann Cassidy

Patricia Ann Cassidy was born on March 22, 1944 in Steele, Missouri. She was the daughter of J.R. and Lola Kinningham. She passed away surrounded by her loved ones on August 19, 2024. Patricia was 80 years of age. Patricia enjoyed being married to her best friend and the love of her life, Ralph Cassidy. They were college sweethearts that met while decorating a homecoming float for Arkansas State University. They married on August 21, 1965 in Blytheville, Arkansas. Patricia and Ralph's marriage was one week short of their fifty-ninth wedding anniversary. Ralph survives his beloved wife. Also surviving are a daughter Jennifer (Chad) Vanlandingham; a son Scott (Tina) Cassidy; and four grandchildren, Lauren Vanlandingham, Jack Vanlandingham, Jillian Thomlison, and Nathan Thomlison. Patricia is also survived by a brother Bill Moore. Her sister, Jean Turner, preceded her in death. Shortly after marrying Ralph, the two moved to House Springs, Missouri to begin their careers in education. Patricia was a passionate educator and treasured the friendships with her colleagues that she made in the 50 years she dedicated to public schools in Missouri. She began her career teaching at Northwest R-1 School District where she impacted hundreds of lives in her 30 years of elementary education. After her "retirement" as an educator, Patricia pursued a degree as a Registered Nurse from Missouri Baptist Nursing School. With this degree, she devoted her time through Jefferson County Health Department as a school nurse for Sunrise R-IX School District for 20 years. Regardless, if it was in the classroom or the nurse's office, Mrs. Cassidy or Nurse Pat's tough love and dedication to student's success was unwavering. Family was at the heart of everything that Patricia did. Her greatest joy was attending the school and extracurricular events of her grandchildren. You could always find Nana cheering them on at dance competitions, pageants, lacrosse games, track events, and choir concerts. She was a fabulous cook and loved planning family gatherings and making holidays memorable. Patricia's fun and sassy personality brought light and laughter to those around her. She was deeply loved by both friends and family. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30, Cedar Hill, MO. A service celebrating Patricia's life will immediately follow at 1:00 pm. In honor of Patricia's generous spirit, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, a cause close to her heart.
