Michael P. Shaw

Michael P. Shaw, of Festus, Missouri, was born on June 13, 1943, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to professional dancing duo Joseph and Helen Shaw. He entered into rest on Friday, June 5, 2026, at age 82, surrounded by his beloved family. Michael is survived by his adoring wife, Margaret (Burns) Shaw, who was the love of his life since they were teenagers. Mike and Margaret were married for 62 years. He is also survived by his son Joey (Jennifer) Shaw and his daughter Mary Shaw. Michael fiercely loved and protected his children and his grandchildren: Tyler Shaw, Trey (Jamie) Shaw, Hanna Shaw, Wesley (Kaylee) Woodward, Mya Woodward, Kai Woodward, and Finnley Adams. His grandkids were the pride and joy of his life. He will be missed by his loving in-laws, Marion Ackerman, Esther Parker, and Mary Smelko. Michael is also survived by and will be missed by many nieces and nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Helen (Mead) Shaw, and his sons Michael Anthony Shaw and Scott Edward Shaw. His loving in-laws, Constance (Burns) Ackerman, Bob Berry, Catharine (Burns) Berry, Bill Parker, and Bill Smelko, also preceded him in death. Michael was a member of the Christian Outreach Center, MENSA, and the Hillsboro Lions Club. He earned his bachelor's degree in business from Ohio University and his Master's of Divinity from Christian Outreach School of Ministries. Michael loved motorcycles, and as a young man, he belonged to motorcycle clubs in Portsmouth. He was a very patriotic man. His career as a successful salesman earned him numerous awards and promotions. He was a skilled pianist, an avid reader, and valued learning all his life. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Christian Outreach Church at 4430 Outreach Dr., Hillsboro, MO, 63050. The Funeral ceremony will be on Wednesday, June 10, at 11 a.m., also at Christian Outreach Church, with a graveside service immediately following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made on behalf of Michael Shaw to Christian Outreach Church.
