Marilyn Medvik Vollmer

Marilyn (nee Donovan) Vollmer of Washington, Missouri, was born the 2nd of 13 children on June 28, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to George and Marian (nee Hoffman) Donovan and entered into rest Saturday, November 2, 2024 in Washington, Missouri at the age of 81 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Marian Donovan; parents-in-law, John and Margorie (nee Cox) Medvik; her husband, Kenneth Medvik, Sr.; daughter, Kim Medvik; siblings, Judith Barteau, George Donovan, Jr., James Donovan, Pamela Lancaster, Barbara Torbitsky, Thomas Donovan, and Michael Donovan; brothers-in-law, Michael Medvik, Richard Medvik, and Steven Medvik. She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Tina) Medvik, Jr., Kevin Medvik, Donna (Jim) Hovis, Julie (Jeff) Johns; grandchildren, Kevin Medvik, Matthew Medvik, Mary Medvik, Emily Allen, Dylan Medvik, Ryan Medvik, Donovan Johns, and Colton Johns; great-grandchildren, Piper, Olivia, CJ, Vada, Riley, and a soon-to-be great-grandson; siblings, Patricia (the late John) Rizzello, Maureen (Jim) Cormican, Timothy Donovan, Cecily “Cissy” (the late Robert) Pilger, and Robert (Tammy) Donovan; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Donovan, Linda Donovan, and Monica Medvik; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Marilyn was a beloved figure whose warmth and humor touched the lives of everyone around her. She cherished her family above all else and found great joy in making others laugh, leaving behind a legacy of joy and lightheartedness. As a dedicated volunteer at Peace by Piece, she exemplified her commitment to helping others. Marilyn had a passion for antique and thrift sales, where she delighted in uncovering treasures. She was a member of Faith Community Church in House Springs until she moved to Washington, Missouri where she embraced her new spiritual home at First United Methodist Church of Washington. Her laughter and love will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016.
