Linda Diana Montgomery

Linda "Diana" Montgomery, of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away January 9, 2026, at the age of 68. She was born on December 06, 1957 in St. Louis to George "Ed" Montgomery and Sue F. Muse(nee Bates), who have preceded her in death. Loving mother of Jessica (Troy) Montgomery-Mims and Monkey Savannah, devoted grandmother of Juliana and Tristan Mims, dearest sister of the late George "Bunkumn" Montgomery, and adored niece, cousin, and friend. Diana was a proud South City St. Louis native who carried her love for the neighborhood with her throughout her life. South City was more than just home—it was part of who she was. Diana lived life joyfully and unapologetically. She loved to travel, loved a good party, and knew how to have fun wherever she went. Her basement gatherings were legendary, and she could often be found at local bars, dancing to her favorite music or enjoying a night out. Dining out was another favorite pastime—followed, of course, by her good-natured complaints about the food. She had a lifelong love of animals, especially monkeys. Diana was a proud member of the Simian Society for many years and cared for a Squirrel Monkey, Java Macaque, and a White-Front Capuchin throughout her life, with her greatest love being Savannah. She had a deep love for animals, as she had many beloved pets, including dogs, cats, snakes, birds, and several others. Diana dedicated many years of service to Shriner’s Hospital, where she worked as both a transporter and in environmental services. She took great pride in her work and cherished the opportunities to travel and participate in events with the Shriners. In addition, she bartended in her spare time, bringing her warmth and personality to Michael’s on Manchester and Babe’s on Ivanhoe. As a mother, Diana was fun-loving, adventurous, and deeply supportive. She traveled with her daughter, encouraged her dreams, and always wanted the very best for her. She was also an incredible grandmother who adored her grandchildren, Juliana and Tristan, showering them with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Known as a proud clean freak, Diana truly loved to clean. She also had a well-known sweet tooth, especially for crème horns, cookies, and chocolate—particularly Dove and Ghirardelli. Above all else, Diana will be remembered for her kind and generous heart. She was always willing to help others, always there when someone needed her, and never turned anyone away. Her warmth, humor, and love for life touched everyone who knew her. Diana will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were lucky enough to share in her life.
