Lawrence Estus Whitworth

Whitworth, Lawrence of Fenton, Missouri, was born October 9, 1942 in Washington, Missouri to Estus Whitworth and Rachel (Brady) entered into rest Monday, April 28, 2025 Sappington, Missouri at the age of 82 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Estus Whitworth and Rachel (Brady), grandson Nicholas Roussin, sister-in-law Katherine Smith, Patricia Lutes, bother-in-law Pat Smith, as well as a very special nephew Richard Smith. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Susan nee Lutes Whitworth; his daughter Beth (Greg) Roussin; his grandchildren Tori (Clay) Wittig, Rachel (Zach) Boschert, Zachary (Paige Vancil) Roussin; his siblings Sue Ann (Gene) Kohlman, Lynn (Jim) Lagermann, Michelle (Dan) McAlevey; brother-in-law’s Donald (Denise) Lutes, David (Bethany) Lutes; sister-in-law Pamela Lutes, and many nieces and nephews, along with numerous other extended family and friends. Lawrence Whitworth, a devoted family man and pillar of his community, passed away leaving behind a legacy of kindness, service, and unwavering support for those he loved. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, Lawrence lived by the principles of charity, unity, and fraternity. He dedicated countless hours volunteering with the Peace Pantry, always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors and family in need and ensuring no one in his community went without. Above all, Lawrence’s greatest joy came from being a Paw Paw. He never missed a game or event, always showing up with a smile and words of encouragement. Whether cheering from the sidelines or simply being present, his love and pride for his grandchildren were unmatched. Lawrence’s enduring presence and selfless spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Visitation will be held on Monday May 5, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace in House Springs, MO. Interment will immediately follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill, MO. In lieu of flowers donations to Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Cedar Hill Peace Pantry.
