Irma Nadine Fleetwood

Memorial Service will be held May 19th, 2017 at Jefferson Heights Baptist Church at 7:00 PM Donations in memory can be made to Jefferson Heights Baptist Church Irma Nadine Fleetwood (nee Hardesty), Age 87 of Imperial Missouri went to be with the lord on April 21, 2017 at 10:00 PM in her home surrounded by her family. Born February 18, 1930 to Erman and Bess (nee Belt) Hardesty in Charleston, MO., Married the late Fred L. Fleetwood Jr. October 18th, 1948. Irma and Fred married and moved to Imperial in 1960 they bought a small one room house and added on and raised 4 children in this little house that become a wonderful place of memories for many over the years. Irma loved that little house so much and it is filled with more love than you could imagine. Irma was a Head Start teacher for 50 years at the local Head Start in Antonia, MO. Through the years she made an impact on many children's lives, most of them calling her grandma even if not by blood. She had a passion for teaching children and showing them her love for god. She loved teaching so much that in her late adult life while raising children she pursued and earned her degree in Early Childhood Development and was so proud. Irma was an active member of her local church Jefferson Heights Baptist for over 50 years. She and her late husband began to go to the church together many years ago and shared their love for god with their children and grandchildren. Everyone who knew Irma knew she loved god. When her family would ask her to pray for them they would say she had a "special connection to get things done with god". She was strong in her faith and was proud to know that someday she would be with the lord. Irma was and always will be the matriarch of her family. She was the bond that held everything together. She instilled values and morals in her family. She loved her family more than anything in this world and her love was like no other. A strong, beautiful, loving woman who never let anything get her down. Always a smile on her face and a positive attitude that was definitely contagious. She loved and appreciated the simple things in life, sunshine, fresh cut grass, travels to see family, a bowl of soup and warm blankets! Anyone who had an opportunity to know and spend time with her is very blessed. While we will miss her, we find comfort in knowing that she is with her savior and her loved ones who she has been waiting to meet at the heavenly gates. ***Preceded in death by her husband Fred L.
