Dorothy Grace Combs

Combs, Dorothy Grace (nee Buesking) of Imperial, Missouri, was born July 9, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to Robert and Vivian (nee Despain) Buesking and entered into rest Sunday, September 29, 2024 in Imperial, Missouri at the age of 67 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Vivian (nee Despain) Buesking; her husband, Michael Combs; and five (5) siblings, Robert Buesking, Andrew Buesking, Mickey Buesking, Laurie Simmons, and Frederick Buesking. She is survived by her seven (7) children, Geraldine Combs, Michael (Jamie) Combs Jr., Penny Ingram, Floyd Duncan, Amber Duncan, Dorothy (Reis) Bridges, Tabitha Duncan; three (3) grandchildren, Aaliyah Combs, Jade Combs, Thomas Walsh; two (2) great-grandchildren, Lailah Duncan and Eliana Frohlichstein; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Dorothy a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother, and beloved sister. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, whom she cherished above all else. Dorothy was married to the love of her life, Michael Combs, for over 50 years. Michael preceded her in death, and though she missed him deeply, we find comfort knowing they are now reunited in eternity. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who brought her endless happiness. She was a gifted cook, known for her delicious chicken and dumplings, a dish her family will forever associate with her warm, loving spirit. She also loved to travel, with the beach being her favorite destination. Shopping was another of her joys, and Michael affectionately called her the "$100 per day woman”. She passed this love for shopping down to her children and often enjoyed taking them on outings. Animals held a special place in her heart. She had a horse named Midnight, along with several dogs, cats, and a flock of chickens she lovingly cared for. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 10301 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, Missouri 63122. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Kirkwood, Missouri. Interment will immediately follow at Shepherd Hills Cemetery, 1925 Old State Road M, Barnhart, Missouri 63012.
