Dora Mae Redding

REDDING, Dora Mae of Fenton, Missouri, was born August 11, 1936 in Poughkeepsi, Arkansas to Palmer Thomas and Norma Lillian (nee Thompkins) Hoggard and entered into rest Saturday, July 17, 2021 in Herculaneum, Missouri at the age of 84 years, 11 months and 6 days. She is preceded in death by, her parents, one (1) grandson, Cory Redding, one (1) great-grandson, Camden Carter, one (1) son-in-law, Larry Tinker, three (3) brothers, Ray Hoggard, George W. Hoggard, Brady Hoggard and one (1) sister, Euna Faye Parsons. She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Felix “Sparky” Redding, married March 12, 1955, five (5) children, Brenda Tinker, of Affton, Missouri, Shirley (Charlies) Armstrong, of Hillsboro, Missouri, Wanda Buffington, of DeSoto, Missouri, Dorian (Gilbert) Comte, of Fletcher, Oklahoma, Glen Redding, of Fenton, Missouri, fifteen (15) grandchildren, twenty four (24) great-grandchildren, one (1) brother, Dale (Laura) Hoggard, of Pryor, Oklahoma, along with numerous extended family and friends. Dora loved her family immensely and took great care of them. She was a dear wife to Felix sharing many wonderful years together. She was a loving mother, devoted grandmother and sister and dedicated friend. She enjoyed the fresh air, spending much time in her flower garden and fishing. She also enjoyed canning, cooking and baking. Her family and friend enjoyed many jars of her homemade jelly and peanut butter balls at Christmas time. Dora was always very giving and loved bringing smiles to those she cared about. She was a devoted member of Mount Olive General Baptist Church. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation Thursday, July 22, 2021 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill Missouri. Funeral service Friday, July 23 at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY followed by interment at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
