Donna Arlene Schilling

Donna Arlene Schilling, age 91, went into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, October 13, 2024. Donna was the beloved wife of the late Jack B. Schilling, with whom she shared 50 wonderful years of marriage. She was the loving mother of Jackie Fonad and Ron (Michele) Schilling, and a cherished grandmother to Ronnie (Trisha) Schilling, Kennedy (Diane) Harding, and Kristina (Greg) Lindemann. Donna adored her great-grandchildren Dakoda Schilling, Jacob Harding, Kayla Harding, Landon Schilling, Alyssa Schilling, and Kreed Lindemann. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Esther Smith, and her children Lori Schilling and Glenn Schilling. Donna was a dear mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend to many. Donna was born on an Army post in Colorado and proudly lived the life of an "Army brat," traveling extensively throughout her childhood. Her family's military life took her to many places, including the Philippines and Guam, where she experienced different cultures and made lasting memories. She shared a deep love with her husband Jack, and together they built a lasting legacy. Donna was a dedicated member of Hope Lutheran Church in High Ridge, MO, where she was involved in the church choir and lived her faith with devotion. Known for her caring nature, she touched the lives of all who knew her. Donna had a passion for writing poetry, with several pieces published in books, and she maintained lifelong friendships with the girls she graduated with from Mehlville High School. They continued to meet every week, and her class celebrated their high school reunion annually, with Donna hosting a few times herself. A lover of elephants, Donna had a large collection that spanned jewelry, photos, and garden statues, reflecting her joyful spirit and unique interests. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 21, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30, Cedar Hill, MO. A service will be held the following day, Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at 11:00 am Hope Lutheran Church, High Ridge, MO. Interment will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
