Anthony Brian Schneider

Anthony “Tony” Brian Schneider, age 54, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, passed away on May 22, 2026. He was born on March 9, 1972, in St. Louis, Missouri. Tony was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Schneider; his beloved grandmother, Mary Irene Price; Uncle Robert and Aunt Rose Gibson; Aunt Helen Ludwig (Chris); and cousins Chris Ludwig and Michael Ludwig. He is survived by his beloved son, Richard Schneider; his mother, Jo Baumhoegger (Rick); his father, Richard Schneider; his brother, Chance D. Hollingsworth (Christy); nephew, Preston Hollingsworth; step-siblings Rick Baumhoegger IV (Jeannie) and Holly Biggs (Nate); dear cousin Kathy Ruether (Dwayne), cousins Albert Sprock, Bobby Sprock, Josh Sprock, Joey Sprock; Aunt Ursula Sprock (Al); cousins Steven (Gina) Gibson, Katherine Gibson Howton, Joe (Amy) Gibson, and David (Karen) Gibson; along with many extended family members, friends, coworkers, and loved ones. Tony spent much of his working life in Florida as a bricklayer, learning the trade under the tutelage of his father, Richard. Together, they helped create buildings and structures throughout the Daytona and Flagler Beach areas that still stand today as an enduring piece of his hard-working legacy. Later in life, Tony returned to Missouri and began a new chapter working at the Walmart store in Eureka, where he thrived as a Home & Garden Center associate. Through his humor and hard-working demeanor he built countless friendships with customers and coworkers alike, earning service recognition on a few occasions. Music was one of Tony’s greatest passions. A skilled guitar player, he spent years writing and recording music, including producing a demo that was actively circulated for a time within music circles in his area. He loved introducing others to artists and songs, and many people discovered music they still cherish because of Tony’s enthusiasm and influence. Above all else, Tony’s proudest accomplishment was being a father to his son, Richard. Their relationship was the center of his life. As a devoted single parent for much of Richard’s upbringing, Tony worked tirelessly to ensure his son would grow into a good man, and he took tremendous pride in the person Richard became. Tony was known for his quick wit and distinct sense of humor. Even during the most difficult days of his life, he always had a joke, one-liner, or perfectly timed quip ready to ease tension and make those around him laugh. Many of his catchphrases, stories, and bits of humor will continue to live on through family and friends for years to come. His humor was matched equally by his compassion and giving nature. Tony loved deeply and never hesitated to tell people how much they meant to him. He would help anyone with even the simplest ask and would gladly give you the keys to his car or the hat off his head if it meant helping someone in need. Tony entered this world after a difficult birth, but as those closest to him would know, he went out “tougher than a two-dollar steak.” He was loved by many and will be missed by all. The family will host a small remembrance gathering on June 1, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. on the east annex grounds of Chapel Hill Mortuary off Cedar Hill Road. All who knew Tony are welcomed to attend.
