GLISSON, Spencer W., of Dittmer, Missouri, was born November 14, 1941 in Jonesboro, Arkansas to Spencer Glisson and Ivy (nee Pitchsford) Collins and entered into rest Monday, April 19, 2021 at his residence at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 5 days. He is preceded in death by, his parents and four (4) siblings, Bobby Dean, Joyce, Lisa Jean, Jimmy Dale. He is survived by, his loving wife, Marianne (nee Cummings) Glisson, married June 24, 1961, four (4) children, Ronald “Ron” Glisson, of Manchester, Missouri, Randall “Randy” Glisson, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Lisa Pyle, of Dittmer, Missouri, Jodi (Michael) Fitts, of Arnold, Missouri, thirteen (13) grandchildren, seventeen (17) great-grandchildren, seven (7) siblings, Wendell, Judy, Kenny, Larry, Fay, Sue, Kay, along with numerous extended family and friends. Spencer loved his family and friends immensely. He was a compassionate man with a loving and caring heart. He always put his family first. Spencer enjoyed the outdoors hunting or fishing. He often found himself busy and on the go, usually fixing or tinkering with things. He had a wonderful personality which his family describes as down-right silly and sarcastic. Spencer was an active member of Mount Olive General Baptist Church. He was a dedicated husband, caring father, wonderful grandfather, man of God and a true friend and neighbor to everyone. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Arrangements handled by Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
