SHIRLEY J. ARMSTRONG of Hillsboro, Missouri was born November 3, 1957 in St. Louis, Missouri to Felix and Dora Mae (nee Hoggard) Redding and died August 1, 2021 at her home in Hillsboro, Missouri at the age of 63 years 8 months and 28 days. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dora Mae Redding. Shirley is survived by her husband, Charles Armstrong of Hillsboro, Missouri (Married August 13, 1977 in Fenton, Missouri), her four (4) children, Charles (Elizabeth) Armstrong of Patton, Missouri, Darrell Armstrong of Cadet, Missouri, Julie Lutes of Poplar Bluff, Missouri and Mary (Derek) Collett of Desloge, Missouri, seven (7) grandchildren, Holley Lutes, Shelby Lutes, MiKayla Armstrong, Hannah (Elijah) Platter, Joshua Armstrong, Jeremiah Armstrong and Rhiannon Collett, one (1) great-grandchild, her father, Felix “Sparky” Redding of Fenton, Missouri, four (4) siblings, Brenda Tinker of Affton, Missouri, Wanda Buffington of Desoto, Missouri, Dorian (Gilbert) Comte of Cyril, Oklahoma and Glen Redding of Fenton, Missouri, Charles’ three (3) siblings, Mildred Hodges of New Caney, Texas, Raymond “Bud” Armstrong of Marble Hill, Missouri and JoAnn Henry of Fredericktown, Missouri along with lots of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Shirley was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She enjoyed fishing and gardening with Charles and playing with her grandchildren, as well. Shirley was passionate about genealogy and completed this research for her family. Shirley and Charles were active in their faith with the General Baptist Church of Barnhart, Missouri. Gather and connect with Shirley’s family during a Visitation on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Reflect and celebrate during a Funeral Ceremony on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. with Visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary. Procession to Christian Church Cemetery in Fredericktown, Missouri for Graveside Service and Interment at 12:30 p.m. Memorials to Alzheimer’s Association at https://www.alz.org/greatermissouri.
