Kenneth Byron Christmas

Kenneth Byron Christmas peacefully and gently left his earthly body on January 26, 2023 at the age of 86. Ken’s soul departed for his heavenly reward in the presence of his devoted and adoring wife of 66 years, Ruth L. Christmas, his children and one of his grandchildren. Throughout their years of love and relationship, Ken enjoyed sitting with his wife, together witnessing the wonders of nature and observing the world from their front porch rocking chairs. It’s only fitting that in the days before Ken’s soul departed for heaven, Ken and his bride Ruth together once more witnessed a peaceful, sunshine illuminated snowfall outside his window. We are confident that through Ken’s salvation and steadfast faith in Christ, the Lord prepared for him a place where his mind and body have been healed and made new for eternity. Ken Christmas is the father of surviving children Brian Lee Christmas (Jacque) of Webb City, MO, Brenda Lea Christmas of Brentwood, MO and Roger Scot Christmas of St. Louis, MO. Papaw Ken prided himself in being a grandfather to Kacie Barratt (Trent), Danielle Platner (Eric), Carlisle Marlowe Quinn (Kimberly) and Jake Austin Christmas. Ken was delighted to be a great-grandfather to four (Kyler, Keslee, Stella & Hudson). Ken cherished the time he had as a grandfather to Scot Michael Christmas (d. 1982) and Dustin James Denney (d. 2012) who both precede him in death. Ken was also blessed to be called Grandpa by children who spent time in his family while in foster care. Family near and far knew that Uncle Ken could be counted on for anything his family and loved ones needed over the years. A memorial visitation will be held on Monday, February 6, 2023 from 11:30 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY-KIRKWOOD 10301 Big Bend Rd. Kirkwood, Missouri 63122. Interment to immediately follow service with Military Honors.
