John R. Tucker

April 30, 1922 - December 23, 2020

John R. Tucker , 98, of Springfield (formerly St. Louis), passed peacefully December 23, 2020. Jack graduated from the University of Kansas with a Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a WWII Veteran in the Navy and served on the USS Franklin. After the war, Jack started a 40-year career with ALCOA. Jack loved most all sports, especially golf. He always rooted for the underdog unless the Jayhawks were playing. He was a member of Sunset CC for 55 years. Jack was charming, had a dry sense of humor, and a quick wit. He was devoted to his family and friends, and they loved him dearly. He will be sorely missed. Jack is survived by his son John Reilly Tucker III (Terri), daughter Anne Tucker Wolf (Chip), his grandchildren, James Reilly Tucker, John Lester Tucker (Renee) and Dagny Anne Tucker, and five great-grandchildren. Services: Memorial Celebration May 1, 10 a.m. at Oak Hill Cemetery, 10301 Big Bend Rd., Kirkwood, MO, lunch following at Sunset 9555 S. Geyer. In lieu of flowers, if inclined, please make a memorial contribution to a charity, or cause of your choice.
