Jewell Lorene Garrett of Fenton, Missouri, was born September 17, 1924 in Shannon County, Missouri to Everett and Bessie (nee; Short) Eaton and entered into rest on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 97 years, 5 months and 28 days. She is preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Harlan Garrett; her parents; her daughter, Donna Williford; her grandson, Scott Vessells; sisters, Lee Rhodes and Shirley Agee; and brothers, Arnold Eaton, Stanley Eaton and Bud Eaton. She is survived by her children, Gloria (Dennis) Laster, Glenda Strickland, Erma “Sue” (Gary) Vessells, Dale (Conua) Garrett, Connie Stranger, Deborah (Roger) Webb and Sandra (James) Garrett-Richardson; 22 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and 21 great-great grandchildren. Along with numerous extended family and friends. Lorene loved the St. Louis Cardinals. In her free time she enjoyed fishing, sewing, reading, canning, cooking, going to the casino or watching westerns. She had a passion for making quilts and enjoyed spending time with her family, as well as caring for others. She will be remembered for her wittiness and sense of humor. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Memorial donations may be made to Susan G. Komen. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 19th at Noon at Chapel Hill Mortuary-6300 Highway 30. Visitation on Friday, March 18th from 4-8 PM.
