On Monday, March 15, 2021, Bill (William) James McCabe, loving husband and father, passed away at age 65. Bill was born on December 28, 1955, in Galesburg, IL, to Jim and Evelyn (Bauer) McCabe, who both preceded him in death. He married his wife, Angela, on September 8, 1979, and together they raised three daughters. Bill was a volunteer firefighter for the Cedar Hill Fire Department for several years. He also worked as a salesman selling rubber to mines and quarries for 43 years. Bill is survived by his wife Angela; daughters Ashley McCabe (Steve Lalumondiere), Nicole (Kyle) Oliver, and Molly (Joe) Tucker; grandchildren Jason, Landon, Aubrey, Joey (JT), and Violet; sister Mary (Ray) Clark; Aunt Joan and Uncle John Cavagna, and Uncle Charless (Marjorie) Fowlkes; father-in-law Bob McGraw; sister-in-law Terry Patterson (Kevin Peyton); brothers-in-law Bobby (Debbie) Bennett, Darin (Tammy) Bennett, and Thatcher Bennett; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephew, and friends. “Unofficially” called the Mayor of Cedar Hill and one of everyone’s favorite drinking buddies, Bill was known for his outgoing, charismatic personality. Over the years, his hobbies included softball, bowling, golfing, grilling, dirt track races, and spending time with his family. He also had a passion for his Corvettes. Bill played baseball in the Cedar Hill Khoury League for several years. He also bowled two perfect 300 games and was a member of the Jefferson County Bowling Hall of Fame. Bill was proud to have hit one “hole-in-one,” and one endangered bird (citation received). He was also a member of the Cedar Hill Elks Lodge. Memorial visitation Saturday, March 20, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 5:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Hwy 30 Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Family has asked that everyone wear their favorite golf shirt.
