Bettye June Medcalf Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

MEDCALF, Bettye June (nee Buickel) of Cedar Hill, Missouri, was born September 16, 1933 in Booneville, Indiana to Lewis Marion and Emma Mae (nee Hougland) Buickel and entered into rest Tuesday, December 22, 2020 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 6 days. She is preceded in death by, her parents, her loving husband, Marvin Gene Medcalf, and three (3) brothers, George Buickel, Howard “Buddy” Buickel, Eugene Buickel. She is survived by, five (5) children, Marvin (Robin) Medcalf, Charlie Medcalf, Annette (Ken) Shaw, Michelle (Shannon) Skidmore, Misty (Kevin) Heifner, twelve (12) grandchildren, Melissa, Megan, Matthew, Zachery, Shane, Chad, Michaela, Sarah, Hannah, Joshua, Caleb, Faith, three (3) great-grandchildren, Meredith, Maddox, Charlie Ann, along with numerous extended family and friends. Bettye was an active member of First Baptist Church of Fenton for many years. She helped with the nursery and Sunday school often. She was part of the kitchen committee and enjoyed crafting with the kids at Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed the colorful flowers in her pots and hanging baskets. Bettye loved musicals, old black and white movies and watched many productions at the St. Louis Muny. She was a NASCAR fan and cheered on her hometown Hoosiers basketball team. Bettye is perhaps most famous for making homemade strawberry ice cream with her family using Derr’s Strawberry soda. Her most precious moments were those making memories with her family and friends. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
