Tony Fitzgerald

Fitzgerald, Tony, of Fenton, Missouri, was born June 24, 1929 in Bellevue, Missouri to John and AdaBelle (nee Williams) Fitzgerald and passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 94 years. He is preceded in death by his first spouse, Mary (nee Smith) Fitzgerald; his second spouse, Cathy (nee Dunn) Fitzgerald, his parents, John and AdaBelle (nee Williams) Fitzgerald; and two (2) siblings, James (Patti) Fitzgerald and Betty Bourbon. He is survived by his two (2) daughters, Tami (Thomas, Jr.) Warren and Donna Insco; two (2) grandchildren, Joshua (Katie) Insco and Tanner Insco; two (2) siblings, Woodrow Fitzgerald and Bernice (David) Capestro; and three (3) stepchildren, Chris (John) Pulley, Diane Lanfer and Cindy (Robert) Meyer along with numerous other extended family and friends. Tony, a loving husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, beloved brother, and pillar of his community, leaves behind a tapestry of cherished memories and a legacy of love that will forever endure. A family man through and through, Tony found his greatest joy in the warmth and laughter of his loved ones, particularly his grandchildren, who held a special place in his heart. His unwavering love and guidance served as a beacon of strength for his family, and his presence will be deeply missed. Tony was a man of many passions, each of which added vibrancy to his life. His love for the great outdoors was evident in his pursuits of hunting, fishing, and nurturing his thriving vegetable garden. Nature was his sanctuary, and he found solace and fulfillment amidst its beauty. In addition to his outdoor pursuits, Tony had a talent for capturing the world's beauty on wood canvases through his passion for painting. His artistic endeavors reflected his keen eye for detail and his appreciation for the simple joys of life. A skilled craftsman, Tony also found joy in working on watches, a hobby that spoke to his fascination with history and craftsmanship. His meticulous attention to detail and craftsmanship were evident in every timepiece he restored. Professionally, Tony dedicated 36 years of his life as a Service Technician for Laclede Gas before retiring in 1991. His commitment to his work and his colleagues left a lasting impression on all who had the pleasure of knowing him. An active member of his community, Tony was proud to be a member of the Elks Lodge and a devoted member of the Fenton United Methodist Church. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and he found comfort and fellowship within the walls of his church. Tony made Fenton his home since 1957, and his presence has left an indelible mark on the community he loved. His kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of crossing his path. Though Tony may no longer walk among us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May we find solace in the cherished memories we shared and take comfort in knowing that his legacy of love will endure for generations to come. A Visitation will be held on Friday, April 26, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary immediately followed by a Graveside Service at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Cedar Hill.
