Ruby C. "Mimi" Hoehne

Ruby Clara Hoehne was born in Rosebud, MO on May 5, 1932 to John L. and Edna M. (Wehmeyer) Niewald. On Pentecost, May 29, 1932, she was baptized with her twin sister, Ruth, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosebud, MO. Ruby attended eight years at and graduated from the church’s elementary school. She attended and graduated from Owensville High School in Owensville, MO. In March 1945, Ruby was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church. John 10:27-28 is her confirmation text and is also the confirmation text of the man she would marry, Emil. This has been adopted as a family confirmation text which includes her two sons and her three grandchildren. She married Emil E. Hoehne, Jr., on August 2, 1952 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosebud, MO. Their marriage was blessed with two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary (Sandra) of Fenton, MO and Mark (Wanda) of Ballwin, MO and three grandchildren, Andrew, Lauren and Kaitlyn Joy who, with her husband, Emil, survive her. Before marriage, Ruby worked in the office of the Chevrolet plant in North St. Louis. After marriage, she was a cook in the school cafeteria for Concordia Lutheran Church, Kirkwood, MO for several years and worked for 30 years as a chiropractic assistant for Dr. Lochner/Rosso. At Concordia Lutheran Church, Ruby taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, played on the women’s volleyball team, was a Stephen minister and was a greeter. Ruby is in heaven celebrating the reunion of the John and Edna Niewald family. She joins her parents, her twin sister Ruth (Marvin) Hoehne, her older sister Frieda (Raymond) Hoemann, and her four brothers Emil (1st wife Hilda & 2nd wife Eileen), Oscar (Lorna), Martin (1st wife Dortha & 2nd wife Wilma) and Alfred who died at the age one. She is survived by Marvin Hoehne, Eileen Niewald and Wilma Niewald. Ruby loves Jesus, her family, her Church and so many others. She counts as her many blessings her husband, children, grandchildren, parents, brothers, sisters, their spouses, nieces, nephews, her Concordia Lutheran Church family and friends. “Don’t cry for me, be happy that I’m with Jesus.
