PHYLLIS ANN McMILLEN-O'ROURKE Phylliss Ann McMillen-O'Rourke, 81, went with the angels on Monday 10, 2024. Education: 10th Grade Education (West St. Louis County School District) Work History: Port-a-Crib - Ellisville MO , Floral Shop Designer - Ballwin MO, H&R Electronics, retired from H&R Electronics Laborer - High Ridge MO, Paramount Hat Factory Laborer - Advance MO (over 40 years total employment history on top of full-time mother and homemaker). Personal Achievements: Church: Talented musician (piano) and grandmother to 40+ grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. Organizations and memberships: Member of Lutheran Church since 1954. Regular supporter of local emergency responder associations and other various charitable organizations in the community as much as possible. Favorite vacation spots: Family vacations to Jamaica in 2013 with immediate family and friends, and to Ireland in 2014 with the O'Rourke clan. Unique qualities: Multi-talented in both music and art, self-taught pianist and extraordinary creator of arts & crafts designs, and a culinary wizard (she could make an old shoe taste like a gourmet meal). She also LOVED dancing, Jerry Lee Lewis and almost any gospel or bluegrass music. Impact: Phyllis was an amazing mother, sister, cousin, aunt, grandma, great-grandma and friend. She made her children feel loved, even when they couldn't agree on certain things. She always put family and friends first and foremost in her life and was willing to do anything it took to support those she loved. She had the biggest heart and strongest, most determined will of anyone. She loved to dance and play harmless pranks (the biggest duck in the puddle) whenever she had the chance. She loved with all her heart and was always very honest with anyone she encountered. She taught people to be strong, loving and independent individuals who have a positive influence on the world. She will be GREATLY MISSED!! Phyllis is survived by four children, Cindy (Komrska) Edmiston & Rick Edmiston, Betty (Komrska) Hill and Tim Hill, Shari (Komrska) Dinkins and Jeffrey Dinkins, and Robert O'Rourke, Jr. and Lynnie (Miller) O'Rourke, siblings, Bonnie (Kallmbah) Leuthauser, Clifford (Butch) Kallmbah, Gladene (Kallmbah) Budd-Beaver (Scott Beaver), Tammy (Kallmbah) Conger (Steve Conger) and preceded in death by parents James McMillen, Carl Kallmbah, Lillie Mae (Matlock) Kallmbah and sibling James Lee McMillen and Carlene (Kallmbah) Leuthauser. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and too many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends to count. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 14, 2024 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30, Cedar Hill, MO. Service immediately following at 1:00pm.
