Peggy L. Holland

With hearts full of love and memories, we celebrate the unforgettable life of Peggy L. Holland, age 71, who passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, in South Carolina. Beloved daughter of the late Sherman and Ola Collins; loving mother of Meghan (Marcus) Stevens and devoted grandmother of Atlas and Vienna Stevens. A dear sister to Gloria (Daniel) Schmitz, Betty (Konstantinos Pavlakis) Atherton, and her siblings who have also passed, Gary Collins, Sharron Downing, Charles (Patricia) Collins, Ina (Ken Schlosser) Shea, Luther (Doris) Collins; and dearest sister-in-law to Jerry Downing. Born July 30, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri, Peggy spent her later years in South Carolina, where she shared a close and unbreakable bond with her daughter, Meghan. Peggy was a mother of another world, her daughter was truly her whole world, she poured her heart into being “Grandma” to her two beautiful grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Every day with them was an adventure, and every moment was a memory she treasured deeply, until the last. She lived a life as bright, bold, and beautiful as the Florida sunshine she came to love. However, Peggy was so much more—a loving sister, a loyal friend, a spirited storyteller, and the life of every party. She spent many of the last moments of her years soaking up the Florida sunshine with her beloved sister, Gloria, who was not only her family but her very best friend. Their days were filled with laughter, ocean breezes, and the kind of soul-deep friendship that lasts forever. For more than 30 years, Peggy worked side-by-side with her sisters in the title business, proving that family and hard work could go hand in hand. Beyond her professional life, she extended her generosity to the community by serving on several boards and non-for-profits that aligned with lifelong goals . Peggy was a spirited woman who truly lived "life in the fast lane," which was a perfect reflection of her adventurous and carefree soul. She embraced every moment with open arms and was happiest by the water, at the pool, or exploring new places—always with sunshine on her face and a smile in her heart. She loved to travel, go to the beach, and spend time at the casino with family and friends. She loved live with music and anything with a guitar providing the soundtrack to many good times. In her younger years, Peggy shined on the softball field, where her competitive spirit and joy for life always came through. Whether it was riding motorcycles, dancing at a concert, or enjoying a sunset on the beach, she made every moment count. She was known for her laugh, her stories, her unwavering kindness, and her deep love for animals—especially her precious grand-dogs, who held a special place in her heart. From start to finish, Peggy's heart beat strongest for her family. Whether enjoying gatherings, sharing stories, or simply spending time together, she made everyone around her feel loved, valued, and at home. Her energy was magnetic, her spirit unshakable, and her heart wide open. She never met a stranger, and those lucky enough to know her were blessed by her humor, warmth, and unwavering positivity. Peggy will be deeply missed, and forever celebrated. Her legacy lives on in the stories we tell, the laughter we share, and the sunlit days she so dearly loved. She will be remembered for her compassion, love, and light to everyone around her. She lived life to the fullest, free as a bird, and loving every minute! In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in honor of Peggy for her grandchildren's college funds; donations will be accepted at Chapel Hill.
