Michael Wayne Thomas Sr. of Cedar Hill, Missouri, was born October 6, 1950 in Warrenton, Missouri to Walter Thomas and Martha (nee Gaither) Steadman and entered into rest Wednesday, April 29, 2026 in Cedar Hill, Missouri at the age of 75 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter Thomas and Martha (nee Gaither) Steadman; son, Michael W. Thomas Jr.; grandchildren, Kile Spence and Shauna Biehler; great-granddaughter, Kiara Holman. He is survived by his loving wife, Loreen (nee Shepherd) Thomas; daughter, Michelle Spence; grandchildren, Kayla Spence, Karissa (Rickey) Coulter, Dani (Joseph) Sprock, Paula Thomas, Michael Thomas III, and Jade (David) Landers; great-grandchildren, Gracie, Kloee, Carson, Joey, Bobby, Desi, Kylie, Landon, Gannon, Quintan, Keegan, Mayson, Camron, Kinsey, Brooklyn, Haylee, Katrina, Alystar, and Ciel; great-great-granddaughter, Niomi Johnson; siblings, James Clifford (Janet) Thomas and Paula (Donald) Lucas; along with numerous other extended family and friends. We’re here today to celebrate the life of someone who brought so much joy and laughter into this world. Mickey lived with warmth, kindness, and a quiet strength that touched everyone who knew him. He was an extraordinary man who carried himself like an ordinary one, never needing recognition, always putting his family first. He believed that if something was broken, you didn’t throw it away—you stayed, you worked at it, and you made it right. That’s how he lived his life, and that’s how he loved his family—with patience, dedication, and commitment. The true measure of Mickey wasn’t in what he built up, but in how he built the people around him. He made others feel stronger, better, and more cared for just by being there. To Mickey, every animal was a friend. He saw beauty in the smallest creatures and reminded us all to slow down, to care more, and to be better humans through the way he treated them. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that will never be forgotten. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until the start of the Funeral Ceremony at 5:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Interment will take place at a later date at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill, Missouri.
