Mary Elizabeth Wright

Mary Elizabeth Wright, 79, joined the angels on Monday, July 7, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Born to Elmer and Roxanne Price in St. Louis, MO, Mary was a beacon of kindness and strength. She grew up with a large, loving family, being the dear sister of Rua Baur, Rosalee Adams, and the late Carrie, Florine, Albert, Leora, Juanita, Nuedell, Willard, and Rachel. Mary's journey through life was marked by her dedication and passion for her craft. She moved to Indiana, where she became a skilled cabinet maker. Her love for creating beautiful things with her hands was only surpassed by her love for her family. After returning to St. Louis, she continued her work and met her first husband, Lonnie Leadbetter, Sr., with whom she shared many cherished years. Mary was the beloved wife of Dave Wright, who stood by her side in her later years, providing unwavering support and love. Her children, Gary (Patty) Wilson, Norma Manula, Lonnie Leadbetter, Jr., Rebecca Leadbetter-Jones, and Jennifer Leadbetter-Tolentino, were the lights of her life. She nurtured them with endless love, wisdom, and delicious home-cooked meals. Mary's kitchen was always filled with the aroma of her cooking, and she delighted in feeding her family and friends. Her home was a sanctuary where her eighteen grandchildren, several bonus grandchildren, and twenty great-grandchildren found joy and comfort. Mary's legacy of love and kindness extended beyond her immediate family. All of her children's friends affectionately called her "Mom," a testament to her nurturing spirit and open heart. Mary had a profound love for gardening, and her flowers were a reflection of her vibrant and beautiful soul. Yellow roses, her favorite, bloomed abundantly in her garden, symbolizing the joy and warmth she brought into the lives of those around her. Her deep devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. Mary's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and dedication, and her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, from 4-8pm at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Hwy 30, Cedar Hill, MO. A funeral service will take place on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 10am.
