Marvel Radeackar

MARVEL RADEACKAR (nee Langdale) was born May 15, 1916 in St. Louis, Missouri and died December 5, 2007 at St. Anthonyâ€™s Medical Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 91 years 6 months and 20 days. She is preceded in death by her husband of sixty-five (65) years, Wilbert W. â€œWibâ€ Radeackar, who took her hand in marriage on February 19, 1936 at St. Martinâ€™s United Church of Christ in Dittmer, Missouri and died March 20, 2001. She is also preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Zenia (Langdale) Rankin, nine (9) sisters June Goff, Irene Cissell, Elsie Sheffing, Edna Layton, Iva Bock, Viola "Babe" Deters, Gladys Buxton and Opal Sanzoterra and two (2) brothers, Clarence and Louis Rankin. She is survived by her loving son and daughter-in-law, Donald W. (born August 31, 1939) and Norma Lee (nee Wallach) Radeackar (Married December 10, 1966 at Kirkwood Methodist Church in Kirkwood, Missouri) of Fenton, Missouri, her dear sister, Lillian (husband, Walter, Jr.) Bohle of Fenton, Missouri, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter F. and Eva Mae Radeackar of Cedar Hill, Missouri, her nephew, Kenneth (wife, Jane) Goff, Jr. and Patricia (husband, Fred) Vandeven, her great niece, Erika Killian and great nephew, Justin Goff, her great-great niece and nephew, Bailey and Braedon Killian, devoted friends, Estelle â€œStellâ€ May, Sandra Litzsinger and Nancy Lorenz and many other relatives and friends. It is impossible to separate the image of â€œAunt Marvelâ€ from extraordinary baking of cakes and pies, tireless embroidery of beautiful quilts, burning up the roadway driving â€œsomebody somewhereâ€ and giving mercilous beatings to opponents at gin or pinochle (around Marvel and Stell, you learned quickly or lost frequently, at cards). A devoted wife and mother, until just recently, you never heard the word â€œMarvelâ€ without â€œMarvel & Wibâ€. She had a glowing, optimistic, engaging personality which drew others to her company, and was a faithful member of St. Martinâ€™s United Church of Christ in Dittmer, Missouri. Visitation Monday, December 10, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until time of Service at 3:00 p.m. with Reception to immediately follow at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016, (636) 274-4100.
