Marilyn Elaine Schue

Marilyn (Mimi) Elaine Schue, age 83, passed away peacefully, in her own home with her family. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, and lifelong resident of St. Louis, Missouri, Marilyn was a devoted educator, a beloved mother and grandmother, and a deeply principled woman whose legacy lives on in the lives she touched. She began her career as an elementary school teacher in the Ritenour School District and, driven by her passion for learning and personal growth, earned her Master’s in Education while working full-time. She later served as an Assistant Principal, championing students and their families with empathy, fairness, and determination. Marilyn believed deeply in the value of education, and her commitment ensured that those around her felt heard and supported. Stylish and statuesque, Marilyn carried herself with a quiet strength that was both commanding and kind. Her signature two differently colored eyes sparked curiosity and conversation wherever she went, a fitting metaphor for the depth and uniqueness of who she was. Though Marilyn kept her life private, her impact radiated outward in countless ways—seen in the success and wellbeing of her students, in her treasured friendships, and most profoundly, in her love for her family. Marilyn’s devotion to her daughter, Kathleen Ann, and granddaughter, Madison Nicole, was limitless. They were her pride and joy, the center of her world. She also shared an unbreakable bond with her brother, Edward Keleher, the “best brother ever,” with whom she caused endless mischief growing up. The two were thick as thieves all their lives, and their connection was a bright thread woven through her life. Marilyn was preceded in death by her brother, Edward and by her beloved parents, Earl and Evelyn Keleher. She is survived by her daughter, Kathleen and granddaughter, Madison, along with other extended family. She also leaves behind countless individuals who were shaped by her kindness, wisdom, and strength—including her dearest friend, Elaine Morros, whose lifelong friendship was a source of joy and comfort. She will be missed more deeply than she ever realized, and remembered for the love (and advice) she gave so freely, the lives she quietly transformed, and the legacy she leaves in the hearts of those who knew her. The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life for Mimi later in August.
