Lou Ellen Beeson

Beeson, Lou Ellen of Webster Groves, Missouri, was born July 9, 1950 in Terre Haute, Indiana to Warren and Marilyn (nee Miller) Beeson and entered into rest December 14, 2024 in Webster Groves, Missouri at the age of 74 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Marilyn (nee Miller) Beeson and her loving husband, John “ Jack” Chapman. She is survived by her two (2) sons, Drew (Alyssa) Chapman and Eric Chapman; her three (3) grandchildren, Rhiannon, Flynn, and Shea; her two (2) sisters, Jean Beeson and Mary Ekhause; along with numerous other extended family and friends. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Ellen, a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother, and beloved sister. She was a radiant presence in their lives and her legacy of love and devotion will be cherished forever. Above all, Ellen loved her family dearly. As a devoted mother, she dedicated countless hours to her two sons as an early Cub Scout den mother, fostering their growth and helping to create lasting memories. She treasured the time spent with her grandchildren, finding endless joy in their laughter and adventures. Ellen’s warmth and kindness extended beyond her family; she had a rich sense of community that propelled her active involvement in local initiatives. A long-term resident of Webster Groves, she served as a devoted President of the school board, where her passion for education shaped the lives of countless students. Ellen was a loyal friend and a cherished member of the community. She belonged to a close-knit group of long-term girlfriends affectionately known as the "Divas," who shared countless joyful moments and supported each other through life's challenges. Ellen graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from DePauw University, Indiana, in 1972. This foundational education ignited a lifelong passion for understanding the human mind and helping others. She was always eager to lend a helping hand or share a kind word, making a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals. In addition to Ellen’s professional accomplishments, she developed a profound appreciation for beauty. Her keen eye for beautiful things translated into a lifelong passion for gardening, where she nurtured a vibrant oasis that became a beloved sanctuary for her family. She took great pride in her impressive collection of antiques, especially early American pieces, and her cherished quilts, each telling a story of creativity and care. Ellen leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and unwavering commitment to her family and community. She will be fondly remembered and deeply missed all who had the privilege of knowing her and who loved her. Rest in peace, dear Ellen. Your love and spirit will live on in our hearts. A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., with a 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. memorial tribute, at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 10301 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, Missouri 63122. A private Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri on Friday, January 17, 2025.
