Lois Jean Cables-Jackson

Jackson, Lois Jean, on November 24, 1941, God used the union of Carl Cables and Emma Burford to bless this world with a beautiful baby girl, Lois Jean Cables. But she was not alone. Carlene Cables-McFarland, Betty Lee, Glen Alexander, Ervine Alexander, Jessica Brown, and Cassandra Powell were all her siblings in life. Carlene, Glen and Ervin all preceded her in death. From an early age, growing up in Meacham Park, Missouri, it was very clear that her life had purpose. Her love for others, started with her work and dedication to the youth of the community as a daycare worker at Grace Hill, which led her also becoming the director. Upon getting her Associates Degree at Forest Park Community College, she became a youth counselor, along with her dedication to the Drum and Bugle Core. She went on to be the Co-Founder of River City Regiment Drum Corps, and served as a judge in various Drum Corps International Competitions. Baptized at First Baptist Church of Meacham Park By Reverend Elijah B. Buckner, Lois had a love for God at an early age. It was the love of God that shined in her passion to reach the youth she came in contact with. Throughout the years, she was blessed to find love. Her union with Roscoe Jackson was one she would forever cherish. “Jack” preceded her in death. If you knew her, you knew her strength was in her independence. She took pride in her work, appearance, and most importantly her family. When you saw her you knew she dressed to impress. On April 28, 2016, she had the honor to leave this life behind and began a triumphant walk with God in Heaven. But she didn’t leave her legacy empty handed. She leaves behind her three sons: Maurice (Carol), Gregory (Alice), Carl (Sheila) and one daughter; Rosalind, 19 grandchildren; Alice MaToya (Sparkle), Christine (Larry), LoRita, Surron (Tabitha), Shronnda, Maurice, Jr., Marion (Adrienne), Maurcell, Kanani, Clark (Mahasin), Cassandra, Christopher, Gregory II, Alisia (Joshua), Carleigh, Carl, Quiana, Keion, 34 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She goes on to Heaven to be welcomed by her parents, Carl Cables and Emma Burford, and her daughter Debbie. This family is stronger because of her, and will continue to move forward and grow closer in her honor. We love you Lois Jean Jackson.
