Lloyd Ray “Pete” Swank of Dittmer, Missouri, was born January 23, 1952 in Alton, Illinois to Cecil and Norene (nee Speir) Swank and entered into rest Sunday, May 17, 2026 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 74 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Norene (nee Speir) Swank; sisters, Joyce Baldwin and Theresa Woolery. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Bernita (nee Clark) Swank; children, Stacey Bell, Melena (Raymond) Lara, Bryan Swank, Christina (Mike) Brown, Devon (Josh) Hettenhausen, James (Ivy) Rigney III, Charles (Nichole) Rigney, Jessie (Katie) Rigney, and Shiloh Rigney; grandchildren, Lynn, Toneka, Eddie, Caden, Justin, Jacob, Chloe, Chance, Ashley, Gabrielle, Wednesday, Jade, James IV, Drew, Grace, Brody, Briley, Shane, Devan, Ronnie, Bo, Austin, Chelsey, Jeffrey, and Nevaeh; numerous great-grandchildren; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Lloyd “Pete” proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War as part of the Security Police Squadron and was honored with the National Defense Service Medal. Outside of his service, he found joy in life’s adventures, whether it was fishing, camping, traveling on road trips, or spending time near the ocean he loved so much. Lloyd “Pete” had a true passion for cars and motorcycles, especially NASCAR and anything with an engine, and always looked forward to attending the Turkey Run in Florida. He also enjoyed theme parks and could often be found relaxing with a good movie, especially horror films. He will be fondly remembered for his adventurous spirit and the many memories he shared with those he loved. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28, 2026 from 11:00 a.m. until the start of the Funeral Ceremony at 12:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
