Les Brown

Brown, Leslie “Les”, of Kirkwood, Missouri, was born February 18, 1930, in Valley Park, Missouri, to George Washington and Mary Agnes (nee Brockmeier) Brown Sr., and entered into rest, Friday, December 12, 2014, at his home in Kirkwood, Missouri, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 24 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, and seven (7) siblings, Everett (Joy) Brown, Mary (Wilburn) Francis, Bernice “Birdie” Brown, Arthur Brown, Dorathy Brown, George Washington, and Clifford Brown. He is survived by, his wife, Jean (nee Schriever) Brown, married June 27, 1953, in St. Louis, Missouri, two (2) children, Mark (Lisa) Brown of Kirkwood, Missouri, and Sheri (Sam) Krause, of O’Fallon, Missouri four (4) grandchildren, Jessica, Sara, Zachary and Emily, two (2) siblings, Virginia Jamieson and Paul Brown, and many other relatives and friends. Les enjoyed his time giving back to others through charity work. He coached soccer and organized marathons and events for charity. He was also a member of a bowling league, as well as a golfer. Les served in the Air Force as an Airman First Class and fought in Korea. He was a fourth degree knight with the Kirkwood Knight’s of Columbus Council 2117, where he served as Grand Knight for a period of time. Les was a member of the Frontallanza Society, as well as the Hibernians. Les spent his later years with his love Jean, and their beautiful family. Les is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Service Wednesday, December 17, 2014 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Church, 243 West Argonne Drive, Kirkwood, MO 63122.
