Leonard H. Burst

Burst Sr., Leonard H., (Former Alderman & Director of Elections) of Hillsboro, Missouri, was born January 7, 1928, in Saint Louis, Missouri, to John and Doetta (nee Haag) Burst, and entered into rest, Monday, November 5, 2012, at Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 84 years, 9 month and 28 days. He is preceded in death by his parents and one (1) brother, John Burst. He is survived by his wife, Toni (nee Panter) Burst, married December 26, 1992, in Kansas City, Missouri, three (3) children, Doetta (Jim) Davis, of Beaufort, Missouri, Leonard “Chip” Burst Jr., of Bloomsdale, Missouri and Lisa (Dennis) Holland, of St. Louis, Missouri, one (1) step daughter, Sharilynn (Art) Duncan, of Springfield, Missouri, seven (7) grandchildren, one (1) sister-in-law, Maryann Burst, of Rolla, Missouri, “his beloved lab, Ozzie”, and many other relatives and friends. Leonard was Alderman, 16th Ward, 1969-1983, Director of Elections 1983-1993. He was a Majority member of Carondolet Order of DeMolay and Past Dean St. Louis Preceptory LOH DeMolay. 40-year member of Meridian Lodge #2 AF&AM; Ascalon Commandery #16 Knights Templar; Scottish Rite, Valley of St. Louis 32 degree and Moolah Shrine Temple. Past President and Director Emeritus of Moolah Chanters El Koran; Past President of National Chanters Assoc.; 2nd Tenor of the National award winning “Nobles Four” quartet, winning first place 5 years, awarded Ambassador of Moolah, member of Motor Patrol and past Membership Chairman and Titlauacan of Arca Teocalli #21, Order of the Quetzalcoati. Len was Past President and member of the board of the Raintree Homeowners Assn. and a member of St. Martins UCC Church, Dittmer, MO. Though he loved to fish and hunt, he loved golf often playing as much as four times a week. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
