Laneta Elaine Chadwick

Chadwick, Laneta Elaine (nee Brand) of Kirkwood, Missouri, was born August 2, 1934 in Kansas City, Missouri to Henry and Esther (nee Luetenschler) Brand and entered into rest Thursday, November 14, 2024 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 90 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, John Chadwick; her parents, Henry and Esther (nee Luetenschler) Brand; and her siblings, Eleanor Braveman, Dorothea Zimmerman, and John Brand. She is survived by her two (2) children, Heidi Chadwick of Union, Missouri and Lynne Roberts of Kirkwood, Missouri; her seven (7) grandchildren, Nadya Chadwick, Becky (Ignacio) Plancarte, Jacob Chadwick, Jonathan (Maggie) Meyers, Aaron Meyers, Joe Roberts, and Nikki Roberts; her twelve (12) great-grandchildren, Thabo Chadwick, Ryleigh Akridge, Bradley Akridge, Skylar Chadwick, Aiden Chadwick, Judah Meyers, Asher Meyers, Henry Middeke-Meyers, Abram Middeke-Meyers, Madison Meyers, Madison Roberts, and Noah Porter; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Laneta was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. Preceded in death by her husband in 2017, she leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community. Laneta cherished her role as a mother and was a doting grandmother and great-grandmother, finding immense joy in spending time with her loved ones. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she delighted in creating memories, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A lifelong educator at heart, Laneta served as a dedicated teacher's aide in the Kirkwood School District. Her passion for mentoring and teaching children was evident in the care and attention she poured into every interaction. She also shared her love of learning and adventure as a devoted Girl Scout leader alongside her daughters. Blessed with a natural green thumb, Laneta found solace and joy in her flower gardens, cultivating beauty and life wherever she planted. Her love of nature and her nurturing spirit extended beyond her garden, inspiring all who knew her. Faith was a cornerstone of Laneta’s life. A committed and active member of her church, she found strength and guidance in her walk with Christ, and her faith was a source of inspiration to those around her. Laneta’s warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family and community will be deeply missed. She leaves behind a legacy of love and service that will be cherished forever. She is now reunited with her beloved husband and rests peacefully in the arms of the Lord. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. A private committal service will be held at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63125.
