Kimberly L. Brunell

Brunell, Kimberly L. (nee Malawey), of Herculaneum, Missouri, was born December 29, 1958 in St. Louis, Missouri to her adoptive parents Ray and Virginia (nee Permenter) Malawey and entered into rest Wednesday, April 26, 2023 in Herculaneum, Missouri at the age of 64 years, 3 months and 28 days. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving spouse; David Brunell, one (1) sibling; Russell (Kimberly) Ashlock. She is survived by her daughter; Chrystal Dawn Gerling, three (3) grandchildren; two (2) great grandchildren; seven (7) nieces/nephews; six (6) great nieces/nephews, two (2) siblings; Tracy (Dale) Harmon and Timothy Ashlock, her dear friend, of over 30 years, Karen (Dana) Kuhn, along with numerous extended family and friends. Kimberly was a loving wife, devoted mother, doting grandmother and great grandmother, devoted aunt and sister. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved being surrounded by all the little ones. Kimberly was a “foodie”. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, especially pasta. She loved her spaghetti. She would often partake of the largest steak at the Texas Roadhouse. Kimberly enjoyed gaming. She played cards, Canasta specifically. She enjoyed a good game of backgammon and would spend time on her tablet playing video games. Kimberly loved to travel and moved many times in her life – Arizona, Iowa, Illinois, Florida, Texas, and finally Missouri to experience different parts of the United States. Kimberly enjoyed watching movies. She created quite a movie collection over the years. Kimberly had a passion for animals. She loved her fur-babies, “Bella”, her support dog and “Gizzy”, her cat. Kimberly will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Graveside Service will be held Friday, May 5, 2023 at 1:15 p.m. at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri. Whereupon, Kimberly will be laid to rest with her husband, David.
