Judy L. "Nana" McClure

Judy L McClure was born in St. Louis, Mo Dec 9th, 1942 to Vi & Milton Flint. After some high-adventure touring though New Orleans and Lake Charles, she graduated from Lutheran School of Nursing in 1966, married the love of her life John McClure, and began a career in surgical nursing, first at Alexian Bros for 5 years, and then St Anthony’s Medical Center for a further 25. Judy entered into rest on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at her residence. She is preceded in death by her father, Milton Flint, son Timothy McClure, step father Marvin Lawson and great-grandchild Chloe. She was a loving wife of John McClure; loving mother of Marie “Tommy” (Chuck) Beggs and Angela (Stuart) Williams; dear grandmother of Casey Kalicak, Abbey (D.J) Stewart, Chaz Beggs and Keira Williams; great-grandmother of Raine, Ryan, Zachary and A.J. Loving daughter of Viola (nee Richter) Lawson; beloved sister of Debbie (Dr. Carl) Werner, Alice (Dan) Hubert and Marvin “Marty” (Carol) Lawson; and a dear sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, aunt, cousin an friend. Her career did not end after leaving the surgical suite— in her retirement, she went on to Missouri Eastern Correctional Center, Children’s Home Society of Missouri, Hyland Behavioral Health, St. Joseph Hospital, and was currently with Mary Culver Home for the Blind, having been there for the past 11 years. She put her whole heart and soul in her work, and was highly regarded by coworkers, patients, and clients alike. Her professional life was augmented by numerous hobbies and interests, including horses and dogs. She was fortunate to pursue her love of horses by managing Coronado Stables in Catawissa, Mo. She was a regular contributor to charities for all animals. She also enjoyed Native American culture, dancing, and cards and games with family, such as poker, pinochle, and charades. She was an avid reader and always with a book. In addition, the occasional visits to the casino were something she always enjoyed, especially when she won! Things weren’t always rosy—she endured a terrible tragedy with the loss of her son Timmy in 1982. Wounds of this sort never truly heal, but she carried on for her family. Her open heart was evident, as many of her children’s friends were welcomed, accepted as family, and wound up regarding Judy as their second mom! In 2008 came Judy’s youngest granddaughter Keira, the newest joy of her life. You never saw a happier woman when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She did so much for so many. She was constantly giving assistance to her family and friends in any way she could, spending much of the last two years caring for her mother. She will be sorely missed by many. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 2, 2017 from 11:00 am until service at 2:00 pm at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 10301 Big Bend Rd, Kirkwood, Mo.
