Judith Ann Wallich

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Judith Ann Wallich on October 12, 2025, at the age of 77. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many, Judy dedicated her life to her family as well as to teaching and learning. The daughter of Samuel and Peggy (Coffman) Mosby, Judy was born December 13, 1947, in St. Louis, MO. The oldest of four siblings, she is survived by Bonnie Brechler (husband Bill) of Katy, TX, Scott Mosby (wife Judy) of Rio Verde, AZ, and Gary Mosby of Kansas City, MO. Judy graduated from Afton High School in 1965 before attending the University of Missouri where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1969. During her time at Mizzou, she met the love of her life, and on October 18, 1969, she married Rick Wallich in Webster Groves, MO. She was a devoted mother to Jenny Baugh (husband Ed) of Eureka, MO, Tom Wallich (wife Melissa) of Omaha, NE, and Tim Wallich (wife Christina) of Eureka, MO. Family was the center of her world, and she relished her role as grandmother to Madeline and Isabelle Baugh; and Rose, Jillian, Jackson, Maggie, and Tommy Wallich. Judy was a teacher in the Northwest R-1 school district teaching kindergarten, second, and fourth grade at Cedar Springs, Maple Grove, and Murphy elementaries while raising her family with her husband in the Northwest community. She loved her students and her fellow educators, fostering exploration and discovery to spark curiosity and learning. A Girl Scout leader for nearly a decade, she instilled a spirit of inclusion, an ability to make any task fun, a sense of civic duty, and a love of the outdoors into the girls of her troop. Her faith guided her. Judy was a member of Our Lady Queen of Peace where she participated and worshipped enthusiastically. In retirement, Judy stayed active as a volunteer by tutoring children and facilitating groups within the Parkinson’s research community as well as small faith based groups. Throughout her life, she immersed herself in gardening, birdwatching, and nature. She also loved reading, being on the water, and spending time with her family, friends, and neighbors, all of whom benefitted from her knowledge and immediate willingness to help with any project. Kind and compassionate, Judy was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a true zest for life and a heart full of care for others—especially children. She was always up for an adventure, and the ones she shared with Rick, her family, and her friends will be cherished forever. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, October 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church 4696 Notre Dame Ln, House Springs, MO 63051.
