Devine Devine, Josephine M., (nee Holtmeyer) of Eureka, Missouri, was born January 05, 1935 in Washington, Missouri to Alphons and Clara (nee Filla) Holtmeyer and entered into rest Wednesday, March 27, 2024 in Eureka, Missouri at the age of 89 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alphons and Clara (nee Filla) Holtmeyer; her husband, Robert Devine; two (2) brothers, Alfred Holtmeyer and Ardwin Holtmeyer; four (4) sisters, Amelita Holtmeyer, Clara Holtmeyer, Anastasia Brennan, and Doralice Brinkman; and one (1) daughter-in-law, Rebecca Devine. She is survived by her children, Daniel Devine of Eureka, MO, David (Bonnie) Devine of Washington, MO, Robert Devine Jr. of New Brighton, MN, Sara (Robert) Brikljach of Chester, IL & Pacific, MO, Steve (Karen) Devine of Pacific, MO, Joseph Devine(Pamela Crawford) of Washington, MO; four (4) grandchildren, Christy, Nicki, Patrick, and Payton; seven (7) great-grandchildren, Grace, Libbie, Cooper, Mason, Connor, Sutton, Riley; two (2) sisters, Bernadette (Lloyd) Miesner and Marita (Maurice) Straatmann; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Josephine M. Devine, a remarkable woman who enriched the lives of all who knew her. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Josephine's love knew no bounds, and her nurturing spirit shaped the lives of her six children and their families. A homemaker by trade, she dedicated her days to creating a warm and loving home, where laughter and love filled every corner. Josephine had a passion for literature and found solace and joy within the pages of her beloved books, instilling a love of reading in those around her. Josephine's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and her dedication to her church was unwavering. She found strength and solace in her spiritual community, where she not only found support but also joy in serving others. Her commitment to her faith infused every aspect of her life, guiding her actions with compassion and kindness. Among her many joys in life, Josephine found immense pleasure in the soulful melodies of bluegrass music. She traveled far and wide to attend countless bluegrass festivals, where the twang of banjos and the harmony of fiddles filled her heart with joy. A regular at Marty's in High Ridge, she looked forward to Monday nights with great anticipation, relishing the opportunity to immerse herself in the music she adored and dance the night away with cherished friends. Josephine's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for life's simple pleasures. Though she may have bid farewell to this world, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. In the memories we hold dear, Josephine's light will continue to shine brightly, guiding us through life's journey with the same grace and warmth that she bestowed upon us during her time on Earth. She will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved her. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Mass to follow from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at MOST SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 350 East 4th St., Eureka, MO 63025.
