Jonas A. Allen

Jonas A. Allen of Dittmer, Missouri, was born August 20, 1961 in Kennett, Missouri to Shirley Allen and Joyce (nee Leigh) Allen and entered into rest Tuesday, July 14, 2026 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 64 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Allen and Joyce (nee Leigh) Allen; siblings, Gary Allen and Carl Allen; brother in law, Gary Stogsdill; father in law, Wendell Thomasson. He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Teresa (nee Thomasson) Allen; son, Lucas Allen; siblings, Charleen Stogsdill, Sharon (Dennis) Cordray and Pauline (Jim) Murphy; stepsister, Vanessa Allen; mother in law, Myrna Thomasson; along with many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Jonas dedicated his life to serving others, finding his greatest purpose as a police officer and detective. Among the many lives he touched, helping young people held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in being someone they could look up to and depend on. His determination was just as evident in his personal life, as he faced numerous health challenges with remarkable strength and perseverance, never allowing them to keep him from his love of running. Jonas also shared an extraordinary bond with his beloved dog, Rory Calhoun Allen, whose loyal companionship brought him immense joy. He will be remembered for his servant's heart, unwavering resilience, and the kindness and compassion he showed to everyone fortunate enough to know him. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:30 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary – Cedar Hill, 6300 State Route 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis.
