PARTON, John H., of Dittmer, Missouri, was born December 17, 1924 in Fairfax, Missouri, to William Henry Parton and Sarah Olive (nee Rowlett) Parton, and died August 23, 2008 at Cedar Ridge Manor in Cedar Hill, Missouri, at the age of 83 years, 8 months and 6 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, one (1) daughter, Norma Parton, one (1) granddaughter, Cheyanna Parton, six (6) siblings, Wayne Parton, Mabel Pruitt, Mina Hernandez, James Parton, Verney Parton, Everett Parton, and two (2) step brothers, C.W. Whitehead and Junior Whitehead. He is survived by his wife, Thelma L. (nee Chastain) Parton, of Dittmer, Missouri, married March 6, 1948 in Florence, Arizona, eight (8) children, Shirley (Bill) Alexander, of Fresno, California, Jackie Wayne (Patti) Parton, of Fresno, California, Sharon (Richard) Lewis, of Mehlville, Missouri, Diana (Jerry) Hager, of Dittmer, Missouri, Tommy (Paula) Parton, of House Springs, Missouri, Karen Thornton, of High Ridge, Missouri, Jacqueline (Joe) Messmer, of DeSoto, Missouri and John Paul (Jessica) Parton, of Imperial, Missouri, twenty-eight (28) grandchildren, Lisa Kolan, Paula Lewis, John Wideman, Katherine Henson, Brian Jacobs, James Lam, Cynthia Bremerkamp, Jacquelyn Arms, Dana Carey, Shawna Walker, Linda Portwood, Jerry Hager, Jr., Kimberly Lewis, Crystal Rucker, Steven Thornton, Billy Compton, Tamara Parton, Joshua Parton, Andrew Zangaro, Jonathan Messmer, Jordan McArthur, Angelique Parton, John Parton, Jr., David Parton, Tim Alexander, Terri Bradshaw, Tammi Morris and Travis Alexander, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, four (4) siblings, Marie Walker, of Dallas, Texas, William Parton, of Thayer, Missouri, Mary Parton, of St. Louis County, Missouri and Frances Williams, of Oâ€™Fallon, Missouri, and many other relatives and friends. John enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood-working with clocks, gardening and boot making. He also loved the St. Louis Cardinals. His most precious times were those spent with his family and doing work for the church. He is fondly remembered and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
