Gary L. Hobbs

Hobbs, Gary L., of Cedar Hill, Missouri, was born December 15, 1949 in Malden, Missouri to Huel and Veatrice (nee Sebree) Hobbs Denbow, and died Monday, March 16, 2015 at his home at the age of 65 years, 3 months and 1 day. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 36 years, Jettie (nee Robbins) Hobbs, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, six (6) children, Anthony (Angie) Hobbs, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Melanie (Jeremy) Brown, of St. Charles, Missouri, Michelle (Scott) Gant, of House Springs, Missouri, Christopher (Billie Jo) Seabaugh, of Cedar Hill, Missouri, Jerry Lynn (Dinah) Seabaugh, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri and Tammi (Paul) Babcock, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, fifteen (15) grandchildren, four (4) great grandchildren, three (3) siblings, Linda Babcock, of Arkansas, Larry (Susan) Hobbs, of North Carolina and Rick (Carmen) Hobbs, of Kennett, Missouri and many other relatives and friends. Gary retired in 2012 following a 30 year career with Walmart stores. He was a store manager for House Springs for 8 years, and Arnold for 16 years including the opening of the new supercenter. As a member of Fenton United Methodist Church Gary served in many capacities and was an active supporter of the youth group, including going on a mission trip to an Oklahoma Indian reservation in June of 2014. He served on varies boards including the Northwest Library, Feed my People, and Arnold Cultural Arts. Gary truly loved people especially his large family and his associates. He was someone you could always count on, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He loved to go camping, fishing, and hunting. He also enjoyed playing golf. He was the rock that held our family together. He will be truly missed by everyone who knew him. Visitation Wednesday, March 18, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016. Service Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Fenton Methodist Church, 800 Gravois Road, Fenton, Missouri 63026. Interment Poplar Bluff City Cemetery, Poplar Bluff, Missouri.
