Frankie Edward Jackson Frankie Edward Jackson was born in Jewett, MO on May 14, 1938, to William E. and Thelma (nee Firebaugh) Jackson and entered into rest on July 19, 2026 at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Dorothy Fox. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Diana (nee Polete) Jackson, his children, Dawn (Mark Jr.) Smith, Gregory (Janel) Jackson and Ginger (Joe) Rodgers; grandchildren, Ryan (Victor) Mathes, Brianna Mathes, Neal (Shannon Flynn) Jackson, Ty (Jordyn Scott) Jackson, Paisley Rodgers, Carter Rodgers and Spencer Rodgers; great-granddaughter Penelope Brooks. Frankie spent his early years in Fredericktown, MO and moved to St. Louis where he had a variety of jobs before beginning a career as a broadcast engineer at KETC-TV (Ch. 9) and retiring from KMOV-TV (Ch. 4) after 25 years. Besides his family, he had a lifelong passion for drag racing his 1960 Harley Davidson XLCH motorcycle, owning several sports cars and motorcycles and competing in car shows around the St. Louis area. He was a long-time member of the High Ridge Elks Club where he called bingo and worked on the scholarship committee. Frankie and Diana spent their lives raising their family, traveling in retirement, spending time with friends and being members of the Corvette and Mustang Clubs. They also loved their day trips spent antiquing and enjoying fried chicken establishments. They both volunteered at the Ronald McDonald family room and liked dressing up as Santa and Mrs. Claus during the holidays. Frankie will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him. He was the kindest, most generous man and always had a smile on his face. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Viewing and visitation for the family will be from 10am-11am, with everyone welcome at 11am. The funeral service will begin at 12pm, followed immediately by interment at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, Frankie requested donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital at donate.shrinerschildrens.org in memory of his sister Dorothy Fox.
