Fern Tripp

Fern Tripp Tripp, Fern of High Ridge, Missouri, was born October 6, 1934 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri to Guy and Estle (nee Hawkins) McNeely entered into rest Tuesday, January 1, 2025 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 90 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Estle (nee Hawkins) McNeely; along with her numerous siblings. She is survived by her children, David (Sandi) Tripp, Richard Tripp, and Cheryl (Robert) Scott; grandchildren, Brian (Jen) Tripp, Shauna (Stephanie) Lawson, Benjamin (Breanna) Scott, Emily (Karl) Pearson, and Sam (Hunter) Tripp; great-grandchildren, Evelynn Scott and Allen Scott along with numerous other extended family and friends. Fern Tripp, the third youngest of thirteen children, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was married to her late husband, Jerry, for 70 beautiful years. Together, they raised three children who later blessed them with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Fern fiercely loved and protected her family. She was a stay-at-home mom and Sunday school teacher until her children started school, at which point she became a bus driver for Northwest School District. Her dedication and hard work eventually led her to train other drivers. Fern retired in 1979. In her spare time, she found joy in planting flowers and caring for her flowerbeds, all while cheering on her favorite team, the St. Louis Cardinals—fittingly, her favorite bird was also a cardinal. Fern’s unwavering faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she will be remembered for her love, strength, and nurturing spirit. Visitation will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, MO. Interment will immediately follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
