EMIL H. ROSE of High Ridge, Missouri was born June 4, 1917 in Dittmer, Missouri to Fred and Bertha (nee Cordes) Rose and died Monday, November 3, 2008 at Cedar Ridge Manor at the age of 91 years 4 months 29 days. He is preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Bertha Rose, his sister, Katie Frank, and his sons-in-law, Gary Gipson and Stephen Humes. He is survived by his wife of sixty-two (62) years, Hazel (nee Schroeder) Rose of High Ridge, Missouri (Married December 1, 1945 at St. Martin UCC in High Ridge, Missouri, nine (9) children, Dale (wife, Terri) Rose of Pacific, Missouri, Alvin (wife, Barbara) of California, Shirley Gipson of Cuba, Missouri, Ethel (husband, Glenn) Drew of Bowling Green, Missouri, Wayne (wife, Pamela) Rose of High Ridge, Missouri, Vernon (wife, Theresa) Rose of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Cathy Humes of High Ridge, Missouri, Linda (husband, Paul) Bonacker of House Springs, Missouri and Kenneth (wife, Kim) Rose of High Ridge, Missouri, twenty-two (22) grandchildren, Daniel Rose, Brian (wife, Sylvia) Rose, Jennifer Rose, Jeff Gipson, Kevin (wife, Kimberly) Gipson, Roger Drew, Patty Carrol, Keith Drew, Jason Drew, Alicia (husband, Cory) Frady, Bridget Rose, Aaron Rose, Keith (wife, Angie) Rose, John Humes, Christina (Marcus Cummings) Humes, Michael Bonacker, Christopher Bonacker, Brian (wife, Darci) McAfee, Michael (Jessica Boyer) McAfee, Kenneth Rose, Anna Rose and Sarah Rose, seventeen (17) great-grandchildren, Connor Gipson, Levi Gipson, Braden Gipson, Caleb Rose, Dustin Rose, Taylor Humes, Dalton Cummings, Carson Bonacker, Aidric McAfee, Caiden Springman, seven grandchildren of Ethel and Glenn Drew and many other relatives and friends. Emil was raised in Dittmer, Missouri where he was baptized at St. Martinâ€™s UCC. He attended school in St. Louis and was confirmed at Jesus Christ UCC. Emil met Hazel while attending a dance at the Liberty Dance Hall in High Ridge, Missouri. After the two were married they live briefly in Fenton, Missouri before settling in High Ridge, Missouri in 1952 â€“ the site of their existing residence â€“ where they raised their family of nine (9) children. Emil was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving from 1942 to 1945 during World War II and is a member of American Legion Post #783 in House Springs, Missouri. He retired as a Store Room Keeper after twenty-nine (29) years service with IBEW Local #1439 at Union Electric. A loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is particularly noted by his family as a great pinochle player.
