Elaine J. Rose

Elaine Joyce Rose (nee Viehland) of Flemington, Missouri, was born January 26, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas and later adopted by Erwin and Jewell (nee Walker) Viehland and entered into rest Sunday, October 5, 2025 in Valley Park, Missouri at the age of 83 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Jewell (nee Walker) Viehland; husband, Russell L. Rose; brothers, David Viehland and Ervin Viehland. She is survived by her daughters, Christina Rose, Michelle “Micki” (Chris) Jegel, and Denise (John) Pagano; grandchildren, Lindsay (Christopher) Jegel-Hermann, Eric (Racheal) Jegel, Kyle (Abby) Horstmann, Andrew (Sydney) Pagano, Colin Horstmann and Lauren (Erik) Hoffman; great grandchildren, Camille Hermann and Wesley Hermann; sister, Joyce Viehland; along with many other nephews, nieces, family and friends. Elaine lived a life full of adventure, love, and service to others. Elaine and her husband proudly owned and operated Cedar Hill Hardware for many years, serving their community with dedication. She was also the owner of her own business, Rosewood Beauty Salon, where her talent and warm personality shone through. She had a passion for the outdoors and could often be found traveling, fishing, camping, or boating, embracing the simple joys of nature. In her younger years, Elaine dedicated her time as a Girl Scout leader, guiding young girls with kindness and encouragement, and as a leader of the Cedar Hill Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, where she proudly supported her community. Her generosity of spirit and willingness to give her time for the benefit of others left a lasting impact on everyone around her. Beyond her community service, Elaine had many hobbies that brought her joy and connection with family and friends. She enjoyed sewing, using her creativity and skill to make things with care, and she loved sitting down for a good game of cards, sharing laughter and friendly competition. Elaine’s life was marked by her strong devotion to her loved ones and her endless desire to help others. She will be remembered for her adventurous spirit, her selflessness, and the warmth she brought to all who knew her. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, Missouri 63016.
