Rueter, Edward R. of Byrnes Mill, Missouri, was born May 22, 1954 in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward H. and Jeanette (nee Budd) Rueter and entered into rest Sunday, August 21, 2022 in Byrnes Mill, Missouri at the age of 68 years, 2 months, and 30 days. He is preceded in death by, his parents. He is survived by, his loving wife; Barbara Rueter (nee Hoppmann), five (5) children; Chrissy (Shawn) Myers, Jennifer (Wade) Knuckles, Debbie (Bill) Riley, Lorna (John) Williams, and Alicia (Josh) Walker, twelve (12) grandchildren; Jonathan, Autumn, Camden, Chance, James Edward, Wesley, Edward Mason, Logan, Trenton, Andrew, Zachary, and Matthew, along with numerous extended family and friends. Ed was a loving husband, father and doting grandfather. He loved his family. He and his wife enjoyed their frequent travels to see the family. There were many trips to New Minden, Illinois to make Apple Butter with the children. Ed graduated from Lutheran South High School in St. Louis, Missouri. He was looking forward to his 50 years high school reunion. Ed enjoyed sports. He was a huge Cardinal baseball fan. He joined a “fast pitch” softball team, as well as a bowling team. Ed was quite the fisherman. He would frequent various fishing spots in Missouri, such Suson Park, areas along the Meramec River, and the Lake of the Ozarks to satisfy his passion. Ed never met a stranger; he would talk to everyone and anyone and had a unique way of making everyone feel special. His smile was infectious, and he was known to be quite the jokester. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 7, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 11:00 a.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY in Cedar Hill, Missouri. Following the Memorial Service, Interment will be at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
