Edna E. Hoefer

Hoefer, Edna E., (nee Walden) of High Ridge, Missouri, was born September 5, 1938 in Forrest City, Arkansas to James Alex and Oralou (nee Reeves) Walden and entered into rest Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 85 years. She is preceded in death by her parents, James Alex and Oralou (nee Reeves) Walden; her husband, Robert L. Hoefer; children, Mark Hoefer and Garry Hoefer; grandson, Samuel Hollenbeck; sister, Mary Wilson; sister-in-law, Carol Nahlik and brother-in-law, Bob Nahlik; nephew, Butch Nahlik; Auntie Lorine and Uncle Ben Mueller. She is survived by her children, Annette (Gene) Hollenbeck, Linda (Curt) Fowler, Karen (Edward) Tritschler; grandchildren, Joshua (Lynn) Brook, Sarah (Lisa) Ramsey, Nathan (Alyssa) Brook, Amy Elise (Joshua) Raposa, Jacob Hoefer, Ben (Henry) Fowler, Matthew Fowler, Molly (Matthew) Fowler, Donovan (Sidnee) Tritschler, Kayleigh (Ethan) Tritschler, and Ted Crigler; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces, Shelley (Dan) Langhofer and Cindi (Mike) Lembeck; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Edna's love and generosity knew no bounds as she poured it into her adored children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, brightening their lives with endless joy and laughter. A stalwart member of St. Martin UCC Women's Fellowship, she drew solace and fortitude from her faith community. On the bowling alley, she stood as a formidable presence, proudly representing the Bonacker-Heifer team and infusing each game with camaraderie and spirited competition. For an impressive 35 years, she dutifully served her community working for the postal service before ending her career as postmaster, embodying dedication and reliability. A fervent supporter of the St. Louis Cardinals, her infectious enthusiasm for the game left an indelible mark. And who could forget her vibrant spirit on the dance floor, where she brought weddings to life with her lively polka moves, spreading happiness wherever she went. Edna's memory will be cherished dearly by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her. Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. Funeral Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Cedar Hill, MO. Interment will immediately follow at St. Martin Cemetery in High Ridge, MO.
