Earnie Leroy Hale

Hale, Earnie Leroy, of Dittmer, Missouri, was born June 12, 1944 in Marquand, Missouri to Earnie and Pansie (nee Hendrickson) Hale and entered into rest Wednesday, April 10, 2024 in Fenton, Missouri at the age of 79 years. His departure leaves a profound void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earnie and Pansie (nee Hendrickson) Hale; five (5) siblings: Linous Hale, Billy Hale, Jack Hale, Donald Hale, and Earline Ward. He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce Hale; six (6) children: Dan (Mandy) Pickett, Brian (Shannon) Hale, James (Cindy) Smith, Patricia (John) Daniels, Bridget Pickett, Kati Pickett; eight (8) grandchildren: James (Lauren) Smith, Caroline Hale, Alyssa Crossin, Carter Crossin, Patrick Pickett, Kyle Pickett, Hannah Daniels, Haley Daniels; along with numerous other extended family and friends. Earnie, a beloved husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and cherished brother lived a life guided by love, generosity, and a zest for adventure. He was a beacon of light to his family and friends, always ready with a helping hand and a warm smile. His love for life was infectious, his practical nature and compassionate spirit touching the hearts of everyone he met. A true family man, Earnie found immeasurable joy in traveling with his loved ones, creating cherished memories that will be forever treasured. His love for his family knew no bounds, and he reveled in every moment spent in their company. Earnie's passion for the outdoors was evident in his many pursuits, from hunting and fishing to golfing beneath the open sky. His love for nature was matched only by his affinity for horses, a bond that brought him great joy throughout his life. As a skilled rodeo bull rider, he earned three silver buckles, showcasing his courage and determination in the arena. In service to his country, Earnie bravely served in the Army, demonstrating unwavering dedication and valor. He faced the challenges of war with courage, enduring as a Prisoner of War in Vietnam. For his service, he was honored with the Good Conduct Medal and the Vietnam Service Medal, reflecting his commitment to duty and honor. Earnie's passion for craftsmanship was evident in his restoration of a 1929 Model A truck, a labor of love that brought him immense satisfaction and pride. His love for life and his willingness to help others endeared him to all who knew him, and his absence will be deeply felt by those whose lives he touched. Though Earnie may no longer walk among us, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know him. His legacy of love, courage, and kindness will continue to inspire and uplift us all. Rest in peace, dear Earnie. Your light will continue to shine brightly in our hearts for eternity. A Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at CHAPEL HILL MORTUARY, 6300 Highway 30, Cedar Hill, MO 63016. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 at 9:00 a.m. at Chapel Hill Mortuary with Graveside Service with Full Military Honors following at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan Road, St. Louis, Missouri 63125.
