Douglas Scott Ashdown

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and friend, Doug Ashdown. Douglas Scott Ashdown, aged 68, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2025, surrounded by his family. Doug was born on August 3, 1957, to Virginia (née Hawken) and Richard Ashdown in Marshall, Michigan. Doug’s life was defined by dedication. He moved away from Marshall at age 17 and graduated from Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis. After graduation, Doug pursued a career as an architect, where he, and his long-term friend and business partner, Fred Goglia, founded ArcVision, Inc., a highly respected commercial architectural firm that was admired by colleagues, clients, and competitors alike. Together, they built ArcVision brick by brick, employee by employee, and client by client, and Doug loved every second of it. Beyond his professional achievements, Doug looked forward to spending every weekend he could at his lake house in Innsbrook, Missouri. Doug found joy in playing guitar in the woods, completing the numerous projects on his lake houses’ to-do lists, and watching his children grow up at “the lake.” Those who knew Doug will remember him for his love of Hard Rock Cafes, his deep-rooted knowledge of The Allman Brothers Band, and his unwavering commitment to rooting for Michigan State basketball every March Madness season. Doug possessed a rare gift that made stressful situations calm and always left a lasting impact on all who needed him. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Tina (née Firestine); sons, Dylan and Nick; daughter-in-law, Daisy (née Caballero); brother, Daniel; dog, Izzo; and cat, Chico. He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgina and Richard, and many other family members whose memories he cherished. Doug was proud of being a loving uncle-in-law to his nieces and nephews and valued his role as a son-in-law and brother-in-law. Doug is dearly missed and will forever be remembered in our hearts. A service to celebrate Doug’s life will be held on December 20th, 2025, at Chapel Hill Mortuary in Kirkwood, Missouri. His eulogy will begin at 1:00 pm.
